For some reason, your expired food picture reminded me of something that I discovered a couple years ago at Thanksgiving. My husband's then 87-year-old Granny apparently has a terrifying "tradition" that she never shared. Granny refuses to let anyone else cook the turkey, even though she has a pretty hard time picking it up to put it in the oven. I asked her that year how she was able to get it in the fridge the night before after she had cooked it, and she laughed and told me that she never refrigerates it after she cooks it. Apparently, it just sits out all night long. I have not been able to eat her turkey since.
